Northern Afleet’s top turf horse World Approval raised his game to a new level on Sunday with a scintillating victory in the $300,000 United Nations S. (G1) at Monmouth Park.
Making his first start at 1 3/8-miles, World Approval got a perfect ride from Florent Geroux, sitting patiently in second until taking over at the top of the lane, when he spurted clear and held off all comers to win by 1 1/4-lengths over Money Multiplier.
World Approval, a Live Oak Stud homebred, has wins in the Saranac S. (G3), American Derby (G3) and Sophomore Turf S. and has earned 4853,450. The regally-bred colt’s siblings include Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) winner Miesque’s Approval, as well as millionaires and graded stakes winners Za Approval and Revved Up.
A perennial value sire, Northern Afleet now has 12 Grade 1 winners to his credit, including three in 2016, as well as eight stakes winners overall this year.
