Welcome Guest took liking to the demanding 7 1/2-furlong distance March 7 at Gulfstream Park as the 3-year-old daughter of Unbridled’s Song romped to a 5 1/2-length victory to break her maiden in her second lifetime start.

The gray/roan filly, trained by Chad Brown, drew away handily in the final furlong after contesting the pace for the first three-quarters of a mile. She stopped the clock in an excellent 1:29.35, earning a 91 Beyer Speed Figure.

Second in her debut a month ago, Welcome Guest $27,960 for her owner/breeder AGS Thoroughbreds. Welcome Guest is a three-quarter sister in to Grade 1 winner Political Force and is also closely related to Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) winner and outstanding producer Unbridled Elaine, both of whom are also by Unbridled’s Song.
