Warbling gives Unbridled’s Song his second GSW in ’10

Warbling, a 4-year-old daughter of Unbridled’s Song, got a clean break from the gate and never looked back to score a 3 3/4-length victory in the $200,000 Inside Information S. (G2) at Mar. 13 Gulfstream Park. She has had an outstanding meet in Florida this winter, with a second in the Sugar Swirl (G3) and third in the Hurricane Bertie (G3) in the past two months.

Unbridled’s Song has been well-represented at Gulfstream this year, with his son Winslow Homer winning the Holy Bull S. (G3) on Jan. 23. Warbling may have moved to the head of the class with her latest victory. She rocketed out of the gate under Julien Leparoux, up a length in the first furlong. She laid down very fast fractions of :22.25, :44.78, and 1:08.63, but the rest of the field of nine could not keep up with her, and she actually widened her lead all the way to the wire, finishing the seven furlongs in 1:21.92. She earned a 107 Beyer Speed Figure, the highest sprinting figure of 2010 by an older filly or mare.

Warbling is certainly a filly on the rise for her sire, who currently ranks in the Top 10 leading sires in North America. She made her debut last Oct. 30 at Keeneland, where she easily won a maiden special weight race, then followed that up with an allowance score at Churchill Downs. With the win in the Inside Information, her record now stands at 3-1-1 from five starts, with earnings of $211,790.

Warbling is a Taylor Made Sales graduate; she was consigned to the 2007 Keeneland September yearling sale, where she brought $260,000 from buyer Joe Sutton, under whose name she races.
