Unbridled’s Song 3yo filly stays perfect, earns 87 Beyer

Oh Carole remained undefeated after scoring by 1 3/4-lengths in a 6 1/2-furlong allowance at Gulfstream Park on Jan. 30. The 3-year-old daughter of Unbridled’s Song is now two-for-two; she broke her maiden going seven furlong on Oct. 15 at Keeneland.

Oh Carole, a bay filly, was still in sixth coming into the stretch, but came with a big rally to hit the front just inside the furlong marker to pull away late. The final time was an excellent 1:15.71, earning her a very solid Beyer Speed Figure of 87.

Bred in Kentucky by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings LLC, Oh Carole was consigned by Taylor Made to the 2009 Keeneland September yearling sale, where she was purchased by Summerplace Farm for $135,000.  Oh Carole is out of the unraced mare Renowned Cat, who is a half-sister to champion mare Escena.

Oh Carole has now earned $52,500 in her two starts for owner Lally Stable. With her pedigree and come-from-behind style, she looks to be a filly that will appreciate stretching out to longer distances and possibly the 3-year-old filly stakes on the road to the Kentucky Oaks (G1).
