Just two days apart, two daughters of Unbridled’s Song each racked up their third stakes victory of 2011.
On July 5, Embur’s Song won her third consecutive stakes race, with a narrow victory in the $100,000 Windward S. at one mile on the synthetic track at Presque Isle Downs. The 4-year-old daughter of Unbridled’s Song previously scored by 3 1/2-lengths in Woodbine’s Hendrie S. (G3) on May 14, after rolling to a track record performance in the $125,000 Doubledogdare S. (G3) on April 22 at Keeneland.

A day after Embur’s Song, triple millionairess La Verita won her third stakes of 2011, a 6-length romp in the Sparking Lady Cup in Japan. This was the second career win in this race for La Verita, who carried a whopping 128 lbs. to victory in the mile event over the turf at Kawasaki. The 5-year-old was bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge Farm, and sold for $320,000 at the 2007 Keeneland Fall Sale. She now has a record of 27-11-4-2 and $3,650,910.
