First-crop sire Half Ours got his fifth winner on July 4 at Penn National when Our Half broke his maiden by a length going 4 1/2-furlongs in his career debut.
Half Ours, a son of Unbridled’s Song, leads all first-crop stallions in terms of winners and is seventh by progeny earnings.
Our Half, who was bred by Taylor Made, overcame a rough start to quickly assert himself and move to the front and maintained his lead for the balance of the race.
Our Half was consigned by Taylor Made to the 2010 Keeneland January horses of all ages sale, where he sold for $25,000. He is currently owned by a partnership that includes his trainer Tim Salzman.
