Taylor Made top consignor at FT Saratoga

Taylor Made Sales Agency, North America’s 2010 leading consignor of yearlings, enjoyed a successful two days at the recently concluded Fasig-Tipton Saratoga August 2-3 yearling sale, including a pair of colts that were among the top ten prices at the upstate New York event.

On Day 1, a dark bay or brown  son of a Street Cry (IRE) brought $800,000 from Sheikh Mohammed’s bloodstock manager, John Ferguson, signed the sale ticket, which wound up being the third-highest figure at the sale

Taylor Made, as agent, consigned the colt, which was bred by Bill Casner and Kenny Troutt’s WinStar Farm. He is out of the unraced A.P. Indy mare Don’t Tacha Me, who is a half sister to European champion One Cool Cat (by Storm Cat). The family also includes $1.5 million earner Aragorn (IRE), who set a track record in the Eddie Read H. (G1) over the Del Mar turf.

Ferguson also went high on another Taylor Made offering, topping the bidding at $650,000 for hip No. 187, a colt by Distorted Humor, who sold on the second day of the sale.

The chestnut colt is the second foal out of 2002 Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Summerly. The mare is a direct descendent of Boiling Spring H. (G3) winner Darby Shuffle.

The overall results of the sale saw Taylor Made sell 15 horses for a total of $3.75 million, with an average of $250,000.
