Not This Time’s $1.35 million OBS Spring 2-year-old sales topper Princess Noor delivered a stellar performance in her debut Saturday at Del Mar, effortlessly winning a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for fillies by 2 1/2-lengths.
Ridden by Victor Espinoza for trainer Bob Baffert, Princess Noor took the lead soon after the start and looked like a winner the entire trip. With Espinoza looking back for competition at the top of the stretch, she pulled away without being asked to get the distance in 1:04.03.
The flashy dark bay was named a TDN Rising Star after the scintillating win.
“We knew that she was a special horse from the sales all the way into training,” owner Amr Zedan told the TDN after watching the race from Saudi Arabia. “Obviously, Bob has done a great job in getting her ready. “
Bred by International Equities Holding, Inc. Princess Noor is out of Sheza Smoke Show, who won the 2014 Senorita S. (G3).
Princess Noor is the seventh winner for leading First-Crop sire Not This Time and his first TDN Rising Star.
