A pair of colts from the first crop of Taylor Made stallion Master Command brought $50,000 a piece at the Keeneland January yearling sale.
Hip No. 764, a bay colt consigned by Taylor Made, was purchased by Koji Maeda. The colt is the first foal out of his unraced dam State Cup, by Elusive Quality. State Cup is out of Avie’s Fancy, an eight-time stakes winner who scored in the Matchmaker S. (G2) and the Boiling Springs H. (G3). Avie’s Fancy is the dam of Grade 2 winner St Averil.
The second colt to sell was Hip No. 1170, a chestnut consigned by Mulholland Springs and purchased by Glencrest Farm. He is the first foal out of his dam Wavering Wind.
