A pair of fillies from the first crop of Old Fashioned brought six figure winning bids during the first day of the March 12-13 OBS Selected Two-Year-Olds in Training Sale in central Florida.
Hip No. 171 led the way with a final hammer price of $300,000 from Steve Young, agent. The filly, consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, was the third-highest female juvenile of the day. The bay filly, bred in Kentucky, is out of Baby Betty, who has two multiple winners from as many foals. Baby Betty is a half-sister to stakes winners Heidi Maria and Doc’s Doll.
A few minutes earlier, hip No. 164, consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent, went for $160,000 to Passion Stables Inc. The filly had impressed last week when she worked an eighth mile in a co-fastest :09 4/5 seconds.
Bred in Kentucky, the gray or roan is out of the stakes-placed mare Angel Island.
Old Fashioned, who had the sales topper at the Barretts January Sale, is standing this year at Taylor Made for $8,000 LFS&N.
