Chief Counsel, a 3-year-old son of Officer took the runner-up spot in a strong showing in the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Sprint S. at the central Florida oval on Feb. 15. The race is part of a one-day meet that the OBS has for horses that have been through the OBS sales ring.
The dark bay or brown colt has never been worse than third in five starts, with earnings of $78,625. He broke his maiden last October at Keeneland and was third in the NATC Futurity S. at Monmouth in the start prior.
Chief Counsel is trained by Bill Mott for owner WinStar Farm LLC and is nominated to the 2010 Triple Crown.
