Soy Tapatio rolled to a 7 ¼-legnth win in Saturday’s Don Getty H. at Century Mile racetrack in Canada, the second open-length stakes win of the year for the 4-year-old son of Not This Time
Not This Time is having an extraordinary year with his third crop hitting the track in 2022. He recently surpassed the $10 million mark in progeny earnings, easily leading the Third-Crop sire list, and ranking sixth among all North American sires.
Soy Tapatio, who took the Aug. 1 Manitoba Mile by 6 ½-lengths, improved on that margin on Saturday. He sat patiently in second for the first six furlongs, then with a four-wide move, easily took command and drew off with complete authority.
The dark bay is now 4-0-3 in 14 starts and has earned $185,845 for Rick, Clayton and Lana Wiest & Gary Kropp. He was bred in Kentucky by Miklin Stables LLC and Five Fillies LLC.
