A filly by Not This Time was the only horse of the first four sessions of the OBS Under Tack Show to turn in a sub-10 second breeze on Thursday when hip No. 640 went a furlong in :09 4/5 seconds.
Next week’s July 2-year-olds and Horses of Racing Age sale runs July 14-16.
Consigned by de Meric Sales, agent, the chestnut filly was bred in New York by Sequel Stallions NY and Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings and was purchased for $19,000 at the 2019 OBS October Yearling Sale.
“We expected her to go well and couldn’t be happier with the breeze,” Tristan de Meric said. “She’s one we have high expectations for.”
From the first crop of leading First-Crop sire Not This Time, the filly is out of the A.P. Indy mare Exotic Design, and her second dam is the three-time Grade 1 winner Exotic Wood.
Not This Time’s first crop of runners have gotten off to an excellent start, with three maiden special weight winners from his first five starters. In the sales ring, his 2-year-olds are averaging $193,689, nearly $50,000 more than any other First-Crop sire.
