Taylor Avenue overcame a four-wide trip to win in her first start in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies Monday at Indiana Grand.
The dark bay filly is the fourth winner for Mshawish, whose winners have come at distances from 4 1/2-furlongs to one mile.
Taylor Avenue caught a loose on the lead Double Whopper in the final sixteenth to earn the win, making up three lengths in the last furlong to win by a half-length.
The winner is owned by Commonwealth New Era Racing and was bred by Summer Hill Farm. Her dam Aqualane Shores has produced four winners, include 2-year-old stakes winner Respect the Hustle.
