Mshawish had the highest-priced filly by a freshman sire during Monday’s opening session of the Oct. 21-24 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale.
Commonwealth New Era Racing was the winning bidder, at $110,000 for hip No. 66. The dark bay filly was consigned by VanMeter Gentry Sales, agent. The filly is out of Aqualane Shores, also the dam of Oak Tree Juvenile S. winner Respect the Hustle.
Mshawish, a multiple Grade 1 winner on dirt and turf, is a son of leading sire Medaglia d’Oro. Mshawish’s yearlings have brought up to $235,000 this year. He has a total of 12 lots remaining in this week’s auction.
