Maple Forest won her second consecutive stakes on Sunday, July 1st, with a sparkling triumph in the $60,000 Blue Sparkler S. [VIDEO] at Monmouth.
Carrying co-topweight of 123 lbs., Maple Forest broke fastest of all then dueled on the outside before forging clear in the stretch. The victory gave Forestry eight stakes wins in the past 60 days, tied for the best among all stallions in North America (with Speightstown).
Maple Forest was bred in Kentucky by her owner, Blue Heaven Farm, and is trained by Todd Pletcher. Out of the stakes-winning American Chance mare Maple Syrple, she has won or placed in eight stakes in 13 starts, and amassed earnings of $264,066.
One of America’s top “Value Sires,” Forestry has now sired 43 stakes winners, 78 stakes horses and earners of $37,300,000. He stood the 2012 season for $12,500.
