Graydar, a 3-year-old son of Unbridled’s Song, took his career debut by 8 1/2 lengths going a one-turn mile at Gulfstream on April 8, running a 100 Beyer Speed Figure, the highest 3-year-old debut number of 2012.
An $85,000 RNA as a yearling, Graydar sold for $260,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Calder select sale of 2-year-olds in training and is currently owned by Twin Creeks Racing Stable, LLC.
Graydar is a half-brother to Star of David, who was Grade 3-placed on both turf and dirt at one mile. Another half-brother, Union Course, was Grade 2-placed sprinting on dirt at two. Their dam, Sweetest Smile, was a sprint winner on dirt. The second dam, Cielo Otono, was a multiple stakes-winning sprinter at two.
