Graydar, a top five freshman weanling sire of 2015, has a total of 13 yearlings cataloged in the Fasig-Tipton July yearling sale, most of any freshman sire represented in the one-day auction.
Select Sales’ Carrie Brogden has a pair of yearlings by the winner of the Donn H. (G1), hips 50 and 342.
Hip 50 is the first foal out of the multiple stakes-winning mare Soonerette, while hip 342, also a first foal, is out of the stakes mare Pretty Miss Trippi, who is a sister to a pair of stakes winners.
“I must say that I have seen way more top Graydars than average ones,” Brogden said. “I was the underbidder on the one Twin Creeks bought as a baby for $190,000. I thought he was spectacular.
“Out of sound stakes mares, both are correct, tremendous movers with great balance and a nice hip,” Brodgen added.
Other highlights of the sale include hip 86, a colt out of Tristanme from the same family as the multiple graded stakes winner Alcovy; hip 235, a colt out of Heavenly Ghost, who is a sister to graded stakes winner Dilemma and Heavenly Ghost; and hip 256, a colt that is the first foal out of Ima Tapit and from the same family as Grade 1 winners Laragh and Siphonic.
The Fasig-Tipton auction begins at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12.
