Eight Thirtyone delivered a top-notch performance in a 6 3/4-length maiden special weight score on Jan. 27 at Mahoning Valley Racecourse, continuing the hot streak for offspring of Graydar during the first month of the new year.
Eight Thirtyone, who was making her first career start, took over the lead in the turn and bounded clear in the stretch in a very sharp outing, winning in hand as much the best.
The winner was bred by Wolverton Mountain Farm and Cameron Wheeler and is owned by Loooch Racing Stables. The bay filly is out of Cat Splendor and is a half-sister to stakes winner Harbor Cat.
Graydar, who was a top-10 First-crop Sire of winners last year, has already had six individuals find the winner’s circle in 2018.
