After winning the Diliberto Memorial S. on Dec. 21, Gigante began 2025 with another stakes win Saturday at Fair Grounds, taking the off-the-turf Colonel E. R. Bradley S. by nearly two lengths.

The 5-year-old son of Not This Time, who would later be represented by LeComte S. (G3) winner Disco Time later on the card, was making his first appearance on the main track since late 2023.

After moving to the main track, the Bradley was scratched down to six horses to go 1 1/16-miles. Gigante was third between horses going into the first turn, then moved to the fence while holding his position. Gigante was under a snug hold behind the slow pace of :50.10 and 1:14.87 set by Idratherbeblessed. Gigante finally found an opening along the inside and came through it in midstretch, then pulled away late for 1 ¾-length win.

Now a seven-time stakes winner, Gigante has earned $1,187,650 for owners Diamond T Racing LLC and Iapetus Racing LLC. The bay was bred in Virginia by Ann Mudge Backer and Smitten Farm.
