A strong showing by a 2-year-old by Forestry netted a final sale price of $270,000 at the OBS March sale on Wednesday, the final day of the two-day event.
Hip No. 248, out of Belvedere Miss, was consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, agent and purchased by Lane’s End Bloodstock. The Kights bought the bay juvenile for $82,000 at Fasig-Tipton July 2011 yearling sale from Eaton Sales. The colt was bred in Kentucky by Mike Rutherford.
Belvedere Miss is out of the excellent producer and multiple stakes winner Playcaller. She is the dam of Diplomat Lady, a daughter of Forestry who won the Grade 1 Hollywood Starlet and Grade 2 Beaumont S. She also produced the filly Dream Play, winner of the Grade 2 Comely S. at Aqueduct.
