Old Fashioned collected his tenth winner from his first crop on Dec. 29 when the 2-year-old filly Fashion Plate romped by 6 1/2-lengths in a six-furlong maiden special weight affair at Santa Anita Park (VIDEO).
Fashion Plate held the lead throughout the trip, widening her margin at each call. The dark bay filly got the distance in a quick 1:09.27. She is owned by Arnold Zetcher and Michael Tabor and was a $340,000 purchase by her trainer Simon Callaghan at the OBS Spring 2-year-old Sale in April.
Old Fashioned’s first crop on-track success has resulted in another strong year at the sales, where his yearlings have averaged over $49,000, which is in the top 5 for all freshman sires. Old Fashioned will stand the 2014 season at Taylor Made for $8,000 LFS&N.
