In her stakes debut, Eskenformoney ran just a neck behind one Graded stakes winner and a neck behind another, in the $200,000 Davona Dale S. (G2) over a flat mile at Gulfstream Park on February 21st.
The filly from the first crop by Eskendereya also became the second Grade 2 stakes performer by her sire, who now ranks among the top five Sophomore Sires in North America by earnings, and second by 2015 winners.
Eskenformoney entered the Davona Dale off two consecutive wins at Gulfstream on the dirt. Facing a formidable field of 12 other stakes caliber fillies, she broke well and tracked the pacesetters from the outside. Set down for the challenge at the sixteenth pole, Eskenformoney gave it all she had, but came up two necks short at the finish.
Bred in Kentucky by Ramspring Farm, she was sold by Taylor Made Sales for $225,000 at the Keeneland September Sale, and races now for StarLadies Racing. Eskenformoney has never been off the board in eight career starts, including two wins and two placings in four starts on the dirt. She has compiled a record of 8-2-2-1 and $103,300 for trainer Todd Pletcher.
