Cuff Me, an aptly named 3-year-old daughter of Taylor Made stallion Officer, got April off to a great start for her sire with a victory in the Lottsa Talc S. at Aqueduct. The filly is undefeated in New York, with a pair of wins at both Aqueduct and Belmont Park.
Cuff Me went postward the 3-5 favorite in the six-furlong Lottsa Talc. Breaking from post five with Ramon Dominguez, who has been aboard for all of her victories, Cuff Me stalked in second behind a quick pace of :44 seconds for the half-mile, then went to the front at the head of the lane and drew clear for a 1 3/4-length victory. The final time was a quick 1:10 flat over Aqueduct’s main track.
Officer is now the sire of some 20 stakes winners, including both Cuff Me and Deputy Daney, winner of the Jimmy Winkfield S., at Aqueduct this winter. Chief Counsel, a 3-year-old Officer colt who was stakes-place in 2009, is currently on the Kentucky Derby trail.
Cuff Me won the Silent Turn S. at Aqueduct last December, following maiden and allowance victories at Belmont. She now has four victories from six starts, earning $138,650. She is trained by Anthony Dutrow, who purchased her at the 2008 Keeneland September yearling sale for a partnership that includes Michael Dubb et al.
