Champion California Chrome and Champion Sire Daddy Long Legs have arrived at Taylor Made Stallions, and the farm is hosting Open Houses for breeders on Tuesday, Dec. 18, and Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day to feature a viewing of the farm’s stallions for the upcoming breeding season. Food and refreshments will be served and every registered guest will receive a free round of golf at Thoroughbred Golf Course.
Breeders can get their first look at Daddy Long Legs during the Open House events. The Graded stakes-winning millionaire son of Scat Daddy is following in his legendary sire’s footsteps. Daddy Long Legs was recently crowned Champion First-Crop Sire in Chile, emulating his late sire, and is already represented by Champion 2-Year-Old Colt and Grade 1 winner Fallen From Heaven in his initial crop.
The 2019 roster is headed by two-time Horse of the Year California Chrome, who recently returned home from Haras Sumaya Stud in Chile where he stood the Southern Hemisphere breeding season. A seven-time Grade 1 winner, California Chrome will have first-crop yearlings in the coming year. He covered 278 mares in his first two seasons at stud and saw multiple first weanlings sell for six-figures this year.
The roster also includes Not This Time, runaway winner of the Iroquois Stakes (G3) and runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1). Not This Time had seven six-figure weanlings at the November sales and he will have first yearlings in 2019. Graydar is a Grade 1-winning son of Unbridled’s Song and a leading Second-Crop Sire of 2018 by winners; Mshawish, Medaglia d’Oro’s only Grade 1 winner on dirt and turf and his fastest dirt miler, will have first yearlings next year; and Midnight Storm, a Grade 1 winner by Pioneerof the Nile, will welcome first foals in 2019.
