Astrology rocketed to the top of the Freshman Sire list with a pair of winners on the first day of June, giving him a first-crop sire best four winners, all in maiden special weight contests.
Envoyer (pictured) started the day off for his sire with an impressive 4 1/4-length score going five furlongs at Indiana Downs. The bay colt was on top the entire way, pulling away in the stretch to win easily.
The Florida-bred runs for the powerful connections of owners Stonestreet Stables and George Bolton and trainer Steve Asmussen. Envoyer was purchased by his owners as a weanling at the Keeeneland November Sale in 2014.
Later the same evening, Troubled Charlie earned his first victory in a 4 1/2-furlong affair at Mountaineer Park, winning geared down by 1 1/2-lengths as the even-money favorite. The bay colt is owned by Robert Heyer and Tom Short, also his trainer. Bred in Kentucky by Scott and Debbie Pierce, the colt is the second foal out of the mulitple stakes winner Sweetlalabye.
Astrology, winner of the Iroquois S. (G3) at Churchill Downs, placed in a quartet of graded stakes, including the Preakness S. (G1). He is currently standing at Taylor Made in Nicholasville, KY for a fee of $6,500 S&N.
