The performance of the offspring of Taylor Made stallion Northern
Afleet continue to prove that the sire, who stands for $10,000 LF, is
one of the best values in Kentucky. Afleet Deceit became Northern
Afleet’s fourth stakes performer with a third-place effort in the
$150,000 Azeri S.at Oaklawn Park on Mar. 6.
Afleet
Deceit, who was a stakes winner in 2009, is making a comeback of sorts
after getting the latter half of last year off. In the Azeri, Afleet
Deceit faced a strong field with several stakes winners. While she
didn’t get the ideal trip, being hung three wide most of the race, she
was very game in defeat and will surely improve off this effort. She
posted an excellent 89 Beyer Speed Figure in the race, just two points
off her lifetime best.
Afleet Deceit, now four years
old, has hit the board in eight of 11 lifetime starts, with earnings of
$183,010. She was consigned by Taylor Made Sales Agency to the 2007
Keeneland September yearling sale, where she was purchased by Bill
Stiritz, in whose colors she currently races.
