Two Song fillies tally 2011 stakes treble

Just two days apart, two daughters of Unbridled’s Song each racked up their third stakes victory of 2011.

On July 5, Embur’s Song won her third consecutive stakes race, with a narrow victory in the $100,000 Windward S. at one mile on the synthetic track at Presque Isle Downs.  The 4-year-old daughter of Unbridled’s Song previously scored by 3 1/2-lengths in Woodbine’s Hendrie S. (G3) on May 14, after rolling to a track record performance in the $125,000 Doubledogdare S. (G3) on April 22 at Keeneland.

Embur’s Song sold to her owner Fares Farm at the 2008 Keeneland
September yearling sale for $170,000. Out of the winning mare Embur
Sunshine, Embur’s Song is a half-sister to stakes winner
Ten Flat and to stakes placed Dawn Raid and Embattle. She has compiled a career record of 9-5-1-1 and $428,816.

A day after Embur’s Song, triple millionairess La Verita won her third stakes of 2011, a 6-length romp in the Sparking Lady Cup in Japan. This was the second career win in this race for La Verita, who carried a whopping 128 lbs. to victory in the mile event over the turf at Kawasaki. The 5-year-old was bred in Kentucky by Dell Ridge Farm, and sold for $320,000 at the 2007 Keeneland Fall Sale. She now has a record of 27-11-4-2 and $3,650,910.

Unbridled’s Song is the #3 Sire by worldwide earnings in 2011. Through the first week of July, he has sired 19 stakes horses and earners of more than $4,600,000.
