Undaunted Ella made the most of her debut with a half-length maiden special weight victory Sept. 14 at Belmont Park, in the process becoming the tenth winner of the year for first-crop sire Half Ours. That number ties him for third among all freshman sires.
Two-year-old Undaunted Ella was prominent throughout the six furlong dash, relinquishing the lead only briefly around the turn before opening up once again in the stretch, then turning back a late challenge to win by a half-length.
The New York bred filly is co-owned by David Kunz and Gus Schoenborn, Jr.; the latter is also her owner. She is one of five winners out of Here Comes Nikki, who is a half-sister to $400,000 earner and stakes winner Boots Are Walking.
