Unbridled’s Song’s Fire on Ice headed to G1 Champagne

Fire On Ice, a blowout 10 3/4-length winner in his career bow Aug. 27 at Saratoga, is being pointed to the Grade 1 Champagne S. Oct. 8 at Belmont Park following the private sale of the 2-year-old son of Unbridled’s Song from Eli Gindi to Adena Springs owner Frank Stronach. The colt will remain in the care of trainer John Kimmel.

Fire On Ice, who was bred in Kentucky by Taylor Made Stallions in partnership with Mike Abraham, was sold by the farm at the Fasig-Tipton summer yearling sale for $160,000.

Following his first start, Fire On Ice earned an 88 Beyer Speed Figure and was tabbed a “TDN Rising Star” when he got the six furlongs in 1:09.67.

Stronach said he was very excited about the prospects of his new purchase. “He has the potential to become a champion racehorse, and with that, earn the right to join the stallion roster at Adena Springs.”
