With 12 winners through the first nine months of 2011, Half Ours has made his way into third place among all freshman sires in terms of juvenile victors. The 8-year-old stallion has accounted for three winners in the past three days.
Half Ours is also in the top 10 in progeny earnings, ranking eighth through Oct. 1, with $336,044. His leading earner thus far is Las Malvegas, who was second in the $150,000 Presque Isle Debutante S. on Oct. 1. He has one stakes winner this year; Backdoor Kenny, who took the $85,000 Mountaineer Juvenile S. on Aug. 6 and was third in the $75,000 Prairie Gold Juvenile S. on July 16.
Half Ours was undefeated at two, winning the Three Chimneys Juvenile S., setting a stakes record at Churchill Downs after breaking his maiden by 10 3/4-lengths at Keeneland. His biggest win came at age four in the Grade 2 Richter Scale Sprint Championship H. at Gulfstream Park.
