Taylor Made Stallions has announced fees for it’s 2012 roster of stallions, headlined once again by leading sire Unbridled’s Song who will stand for $76,500 payable Nov. 1st or $85,000 stands and nurses.
Unbridled’s Song was one of only three stallions in the world in 2011 to produce multiple million-dollar yearlings at public auction. He sired the top filly at Keeneland September, as well as the top filly from the select portion at Keeneland September, at $1.3 million and $1 million, respectively. On the racetrack, Unbridled’s Song has sired 13 Grade 1 winners, including three Breeders’ Cup champions.
Eskendereya, the dominant winner of the 2010 Wood Memorial (G1) and early Kentucky Derby favorite, will have first foals this upcoming year after a popular first season in the breeding shed in 2011. The son of Giant’s Causeway will stand his second season for $22,500 payable Nov. 1st or $25,000 stands and nurses in 2012.
Northern Afleet enjoyed yet another banner year in 2011, with his progeny winning five Grade 1s – tops among all North American sires. His current runners are led by recent Breeders’ Cup Sprint champion Amazombie, a two-time Grade 1 winner in 2011 and the frontrunner for Eclipse honors, and two-time 2011 Grade 1 winner Teaks North. Northern Afleet will stand in 2012 for $13,500 payable Nov. 1st or$15,000 stands and nurses.
Forestry became Storm Cat’s first son to sire a Classic winner in 2011 when Shackleford won the Preakness S. (G1). Forestry also sired graded stakes winner Separate Forest among his half a dozen stakes winners this year, and he returned to a Top 20 ranking on the General Sires list in 2011. Forestry will stand in 2012 for $11,250 payable Nov. 1st or $12,500 stands and nurses.
Old Fashioned, the 2-year-old Eclipse finalist of 2008 and winter book favorite for the 2009 Kentucky Derby, will have first yearlings in 2012. The multiple graded stakes-winning son of Unbridled’s Song will stand his third season in 2012 for a fee of $7,200 payable Nov. 1st or $8,000 stands and nurses.
