Embur’s Song won the 2011 Sovereign award in the older female category, giving her sire Unbridled’s Song his first Canadian champion. The 5-year-old mare, now retired, is owned by Fares Farm and was trained by Todd Pletcher.
Unbridled’s Song has six stakes horses thus far in 2012, including the turf sprinter Inspired, a two-time black-type winner at the recently concluded Fair Grounds meet.
Embur’s Song won three graded stakes during 2011, including the Ontario Matron S. and Hendrie S., both Grade 3 events at Woodbine. She also set a track record when capturing the 1 1/16-mile Doubledogdare S. (G3) at Keeneland in the spring. She finished the year with a mark of 4-1-1 from nine starts, earning $449,308.
Embur’s Song has been bred and confirmed in foal to Giant’s Causeway.
