Justanoldsong found the one-mile distance of the $50,000 SunRay Park H. to his liking as son of Unbridled’s Song closed from seventh place to roll to a 3 3/4-length victory at the northwest New Mexico racetrack. The 3-year-old gray/roan colt is owned and trained by David Wolochuk, who obtained him privately after the OBS 2011 2-year-old Spring select sale.
Justanoldsong left little doubt who was best in the SunRay H. Seventh after a half-mile, he rallied four wide inside the 3/16th’s pole to storm past the frontrunners and draw off to a convincing victory in 1:38.05.
The winner, bred in Kentucky by Guida Racing Stable, Inc. and Unbridled’s Song Syndicate, is now 2-0-1 in five starts, earning $60,900. He is a half-brother to Sinai, third in the 2011 San Pedro S. at Santa Anita. Their dam Dontgetinmyway is out of the stakes-winning mare Ashtabula, who is the dam of multiple Grade 2 winner Even the Score.
