A colt from the first crop of Old Fashioned topped the second and final Open session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2012 August Yearling Sale.
Old Fashioned has enjoyed tremendous success in the auction ring this year. Just two weeks ago at the Saratoga Select yearling sale, a filly by the Taylor Made sire sold for $360,000, the highest price paid for any yearling at auction by a first-year sire in 2012.
Consigned by Bobby Jones Equine LLC, Agent, Hip No. 564 went to trainer Greg Gilchrist for $55,000. The chestnut colt is out of Catspaw, by Storm Cat, a daughter of stakes winner Footing, who is the granddam of the Banned, winner of the Del Mar Derby (G2) and American Turf S. (G2).
