A colt by Unbridled’s Song sold for $1.1 million on the first day of the Keeneland September yearling sale, the top price for a colt and third highest of the Sept. 9 opening session.
Consigned by Bedouin Bloodstock, agent, the gray or roan colt, hip No. 110, is out of grade 1 winner Irish Smoke, who took the Spinaway S. at age two. The winning bidder was Nat Rea’s Regis Farms.
“He’s a smashing horse, and I don’t need to say anything about Unbridled’s Song,” said Richard Hogan, agent for Nat Rea. “It’s the kind of horse that could be a graded stakes winner, and then you could stand him.”
