With a pair of stakes winners over the weekend, Forestry hit another milestone in his illustrious stallion career with a lifetime total of 50 black-type winners.

In the past week, the Taylor Made stallion also had a pair of 2-year-old maiden special weight winners, a new stakes-placed horse in Just Meteor, and a $150,000 yearling sell at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York Preferred sale.

Both of Forestry’s newest stakes winners got their victories in Brazil over the Aug. 9-10 weekend. Fruta do Conde, a 3-year-old filly, remained undefeated with a game neck victory in the 1,600 meter (about one mile) Classic Riboletta, while Orpheus earned his black type a day later over the same oval.

Aug. 9 at the Saratoga auction in upstate New York, hip No. 211was consigned by Taylor Made and sold to Preston Stables LLC. He is the first foal out of Way with Words, who was a seven-time stakes winner of $578,400.
