Outdated pulled away with authority in the Turf Paradise stretch en route to 4 ¾-length victory in Saturday’s Lost in the Fog S., the first stakes win for the 2-year-old gray son of Old Fashioned.
Old Fashioned will finish 2014 as the nation’s second-leading Second-crop sire, with more than $2.5 million in progeny earnings. His six stakes horses and four stakes winners both also rank second among all Kentucky freshman sires.
After breaking alertly, Outdated tracked a couple lengths behind Shakin Schiller before taking command with two furlongs to run. The Robertino Diodoro trainee powered home in the stretch to win easily (VIDEO).
Outdated, who made his fourth start at as many tracks, covered the 6 ½ furlongs over a fast track in 1:15.47.
Owned by Charles Garvey, Outdated increased his earnings to $42,999 from two wins in four outings.
Outdated is the third foal out of the Rahy mare Romantic Romance, who has three siblings that were stakes winners.
