Eskendereya runners on the Go, Go, Go!

With three top-class maiden special weight winners on the dirt in three days, Eskendereya moved into the lead among America’s top second crop sires of 2015 winners.

The trio of new winners gave Eskendereya 19 this year alone, 24 from his inaugural crop,  and bolstered his progeny earnings past the $1,000,000 mark.

First to hit the winner’s circle was Roksana, who battled to victory in her second career start, a $57,250 maiden special over a mile at Santa Anita. Out of Board Battle, by Seeking the Gold, the chestnut was bred in Kentucky by William B. Harrigan, and sold as a yearling for $52,000 then as a two-year-old for $160,000. Racing for owner Michael Ellis, she is trained by Martin Jones.

That same day, Sumlin took her career debut by daylight, going six furlongs in 1:10.86 in a $43,000 maiden special event at the Fair Grounds. Bred in Kentucky by Brereton Jones and sold at the Keeneland September Sale for $210,000, she is owned by Courtlandt Farms and trained by David Carroll.

Two days later, All Too Many dominated a $60,000 maiden special event over 8 1/2 furlongs at Aqueduct, going wire to wire by four lengths. The $240,000 Keeneland September yearling was bred by R.T. Gilbert, RMA Bloodstock and Widden Stud, and is owned by Let’s Go Stable. Todd Pletcher trains.

Eskendeyera, by Giant’s Causeway out of Aldebaran Light, by Seattle Slew, is standing the 2015 season at Taylor Made for $17,500 live foal.
