Worldwide demand remains strong for Eskendereya juveniles

Led by six-figure purchases in Europe and the U.S., two-year-olds from the second crop by Eskendeyera continue to attract the world’s top buyers.

Sons and daughters of Eskendereya are averaging $118,752 this year, nearly seven times the current fee. 

Top price to date from this second crop is a $650,000 colt sold to Bob Baffert at the Fasig-Tipton February Sale. Other six-figure juveniles this season include: a $200,000 colt sold at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May; a $150,000 filly sold at OBS March; a $150,000 filly sold at OBS April; a $140,276 colt sold at Tattersalls April.

Some of the industry’s most prominent horseman have purchased these juveniles, including Zayat Stables, Bernie Schiappa and Michael Petersen, Steve Young, West Point Thoroughbreds, Blandford Bloodstock, Zilla Racing Stable, Tim Hills, Patrice Miller/EQB, and Pewter Stable.

Eskendereya was the most dominant three-year-old in his crop, winning three races in three sophomore starts by more than 18 combined lengths. He has already sired 28 winners and earners of $1,500,000 from his first crop alone. He is standing the 2015 season for $17,500 Live Foal.
