Astrology’s first colt came through the ring during the second day of the Sept. 14-26 Keeneland September Yearling sale, bringing a winning bid of $250,000 from Frank Brothers, agent for Starlight Racing. The price was more than 33 times his 2015 stud fee.

The colt, hip No. 311, was consigned by South Point Sales Agency. The bay Kentucky-bred is out of Hangingbyamoment, dam of five winners, including the stakes-winning Hangingbyathread.

Astrology, whose first foals are yearlings of 2015, has a total of 37 horses catalogued in the sale. The $250,000 set a new high mark for Astrology’s yearlings, surpassing the $140,000 paid for a colt at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga August Preferred Yearlings sale.
