Season to Mshawish to be auctioned to benefit Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund

A 2017 no-guarantee season to Taylor Made Stallions’ Mshawish will be auctioned off at a “Night For A Cure”, a fundraising event to be held this Sunday, July 10th at Fasig-Tipton in Lexington to benefit the Ann Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund. The event is sold out.

The fundraiser is on the heels of next week’s Fasig-Tipton July sale, and all proceeds from the Mshawish season auction and the event will go to the Ann Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund and its steadfast quest to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease.

“Taylor Made and Al Shaqab Racing are proud to have the opportunity to support such a worthy cause by a longtime member of the Thoroughbred community like Ann Hanley and her tremendous efforts through Parkinson’s research,” said Duncan Taylor, President & CEO at Taylor Made. “We are very excited about standing multiple Grade 1 winner Mshawish in 2017, and will have him on the sale grounds at Fasig-Tipton all day this Sunday so people can see just how special of a horse he is before we auction off a no-guarantee season Sunday night at the “Night For A Cure” event. We are hopeful we can raise a significant amount of money to benefit the Ann Hanley Parkinson’s Research Fund.”

Mshawish, the multiple Grade 1-winning son of Medaglia d’Oro who will stand new at Taylor Made Stallions in 2017, will also be showcased and available for inspection throughout the day on Sunday at Barn 13 on the Fasig-Tipton sale grounds.

Mshawish was a Grade 1 winner on both dirt and turf, joining Horses of the Year California Chrome and Wise Dan as the only North American males in the last decade to accomplish that feat. He captured five total Graded stakes and seven total stakes races during his highly-decorated racing career, including a decisive victory in this year’s $500,000 Donn H. (G1) at Gulfstream in just his third lifetime start on the dirt.

Campaigned by Al Shaqab Racing, Mshawish also won the Gulfstream Park Turf H. (G1) a year ago, and he recently retired to Taylor Made Stallions after amassing career earnings of $2,421,351.
