$200K Graydar colt at Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream sale

A colt from the first crop of Grade 1 winner Graydar sold for $200,000 during Wednesday’s Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream sale in what was the first major 2-year-old auction of 2017.

Consigned by Eddie Woods, agent and cataloged as hip No. 137, the gray or roan colt went to D.M.I. The colt had worked an eighth-mile in :10.2 seconds during the Under Tack Show (hip No. 137 video here). The Kentucky bred’s dam Sisti’s Pride was Grade 3-placed and is the dam of the stakes-placed filly Zermatt. The family includes Grade 1 winners Trumpets Blare and Albert the Great.

Graydar’s first crop to race will be on track in 2017.  A graded stakes winner over three different tracks, was undfeated in stakes company. He was bred to more than 115 mares each of his first three seasons at stud and stands this year at Taylor Made for a fee of  $12,500 live foals stands and nurses.
