Teddy Time, a 4-year-old son of Northern Afleet, closed with an incredible flourish to capture the $50,000 Blair’s Cove S. on July 3 at Canterbury Park (VIDEO).

The winner was making his stakes debut for owner/breeder Jeff Larson and has compiled a very nice record of 3-2-2 in 10 starts. The winner is a half-brother to three-time stakes winner Sioux Appeal, while his dam Devil Not Me is a full sister to Tubby Time, who won the Blair’s Cove on two occasions.

Teddy Time’s journey to the winners circle saw him come from last to first in the final half-mile of the 1 1/16-mile turf event on Monday evening. Traveling along comfortably for the first five furlongs, he launched his bid going into the final turn, but had to check very hard outside the quarter pole, losing all momentum.

Teddy Time’s jockey Quincy Hamilton quickly regathered his mount and shot through a narrow opening between horses at the top of the stretch. In full flight at the furlong marker, he ran down 4-5 favorite and stablemate at the wire to win by a half-length in 1:41.03 on the firm turf.

The top two finishers are trained by McLean Robertson.

Teddy Time is Northern Afleet’s 76th lifetime stakes winner, while the Taylor Made stallion has eight this year, including four graded stakes winners.
