Taylor Made Stallions announced today that Leslie’s Lady, the dam of multiple Eclipse champion and three-time Breeders’ Cup winner Beholder, Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) winner Mendelssohn, and Grade 1 winner and leading sire Into Mischief, has been bred to Not This Time.
One of the most influential broodmares in recent history, Leslie’s Lady has a yearling colt by Medaglia d’Oro and this year foaled a filly by American Pharoah.
“Not This Time is a great-looking horse that was extremely talented,” said Fred Mitchell, owner of Leslie’s Lady. “The reports on his first foals this year have been excellent, and we wanted to get back to that sire line, which has been so successful.”
The most brilliant 2-year-old ever by sire of sires Giant’s Causeway, Not This Time is produced from the Trippi mare Miss Macy Sue, a Graded stakes winner and Breeders’ Cup-placed earner of $880,915, making him a half-brother to Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Liam’s Map.
A leading 2-year-old of 2016 and a runaway winner of that year’s Iroquois S. (G3) at Churchill Downs, Not This Time earned $454,183 in a stellar juvenile season. He trounced maiden company by 10 lengths before winning the Iroquois by 8 ¼ lengths. He was a narrowly-beaten runner-up in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).
