Graydar’s 2-year-old colt The Gray Dehere put on an incredible display in Friday’s $65,000 Prairie Gold Juvenile S. at Prairie Meadows, powering his way to a 14 3/4-length score in his first stakes start (VIDEO).
After breaking his maiden by nearly four lengths on June 24, good things were expected out of the gray colt in the Juvenile, but he exceeded his expectations. Parked three wide around the turn, The Gray Dehere suddenly accelerated away from the field at the top of the stretch and was completely under wraps as he coasted under the wire.
The winner is owned by Penn Family Racing, Kevin Clifton and J. R. Caldwell, the latter also his trainer, and was bred in Kentucky by D. J. Stable LLC.
Graydar is a top-10 Second-Crop Sire with 37 winners to date, led by Robert B. Lewis S. (G3) champ Lombo.
