Leading Freshman sire Not This Time scored his second winner in as many days on Friday when Swaggy George rolled to a four-length maiden special weight score at Gulfstream Park.
The dark bay colt was seventh early on in the five-furlong affair before making a huge five-wide rally on the turn and into the stretch to take command, then draw off in the lane to complete the distance in one minute flat.
Swaggy George is owned by J Stables LLC and was bred in Kentucky by Frank L. Durham. He is out of the Elusive Quality mare Ottoviano, who is a full sister to the multiple graded stakes-placed Smart N Pretty.
Not This Time is the only First-Crop Sire with multiple winners. A leading juvenile of his crop, Not This Time was a romping winner of the 2016 Iroquois Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs, a valiant runner-up in that year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) as the race favorite, and is a half-brother to Liam’s Map, winner of the 2015 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) and a leading second-crop sire this year. Not This Time is the most brilliant 2-year-old ever by sire of sires Giant’s Causeway, and he is out of the Trippi mare Miss Macy Sue, a Graded stakes winner and Breeders’ Cup-placed near millionaire earner of $880,915.
