Mshawish tallies a pair of maiden winners

Mshawish added two new winners from his first crop on Wednesday, topped by Arabian Prince’s 1 1/2-length victory in a $97,000 maiden special weight affair at Churchill Downs.

Later in the day, Dark Blue Flame broke her maiden by a head going 5 1/2-furlongs at Presque Isle Downs.

Mshawish now has three First-Crop winners, with upcoming maiden special entries at Laurel Park and on the turf at Kentucky Downs.

First-time starter Arabian Prince came from well off the pace in his one-mile main track race. Seventh at the half-way point, he came four-wide into the stretch and rolled to the lead with a furlong to go to win going away.

Arabian Prince is owned by West Point Thoroughbreds and William Sandbrook and was bred in Kentucky by M. Taylor, J. Tayor, BGT LLC, G. E. Saufley and Louis Brooks Ranch LP.

Dark Blue Flame was much closer to the pace in her race, coming from third to get the win in the final strides.

Dark Blue Flame races for Blazing Meadows Farm and Siena Farm LLC, the latter also her breeder. The dark bay filly hails from the family of Northern Afleet and Grade 1 winner Tap to Music.
