Leading First-Crop sire Not This Time was represented by his 15th overall winner Friday at Belmont Park when Vacay made the lead in the final furlong to win her debut by 1 3/4-lengths.
Vacay was near the back of the seven-horse field early on, but steadily advanced and forged ahead of La Urbana at the sixteenth pole and drew clear from there. She covered the 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:18.76 on a sloppy main track.
Vacay races for Repole Stable and Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners, who purchased her for $100,000 at the Fasig-Tipton New York Preferred Yearlings sale in 2019. She was bred by J Stables LLC and is out of the stakes winner Florida Sun.
In addition to leading the 2020 Freshman Sire list by winners, Not This Time also tops the chart by wins, with 18, black type winners (2), and black type horses (4), and progeny earnings ($867,487).
