Streaking Yes This Time wins fourth straight in English Channel S.

Yes This Time, a 3-year-old son of Not This Time, continued his roll over the Gulfstream Park turf course with a last-to-first victory in Saturday’s $75,000 English Channel S.

After three straight allowance wins since February, the chestnut colt earned his first stakes win in his black type debut. His victory gave Not This Time three stakes winners and five stakes horses in 2021, the most for any Second-Crop sire in North America.

Yes This Time got pinched back severely at the start and was forced to take up position at the back of the 10-horse field going into the first turn. A moderate half-mile of :48.10 seemed to compromise his chances, but he began to make up ground at the midway point of the backstretch. Forced four-wide on the turn, he still closed on the leaders with just King of Dreams to beat at the top of the stretch. Those two battled most of the rest of the way, until Yes This Time took over in deep stretch to win by
three-quarters of a length.

The final time was 1:41.52 for the 1 1/16-miles on the “good” turf.

Trained by Kelly Breen, Yes This Time races for Edge Racing and has earned $125,025. He is five for seven lifetime, with all of those victories coming at two turns on the grass.
Yes This Time was bred in Kentucky by Barry Golden and is out of Smart Jilly, who is a half-sister to Grade 2 winners Strike a Deal and Pacific Wind.
